Dominus 1991

Dominus, produced by the John Daniel Society, is made solely from grapes grown on the historic Napanook Vineyard in Yountville, California.

The 1991 Dominus is the most harmonious and elegant wine to be released by the winery in the first decade of its existence.

For the first time in the history of the wine, Merlot was not included in the final blend.

Vintage Summary
We received 26.5 inches of rain (normal is 35.68 inches). Initially the season was of concern due to the late bloom, veraison and harvest. As it turned out, the extra “hangtime” on the vine had positive results. The 1991 growing season was one of the longest on record in the Napa Valley, producing a fruit of extraordinary quality.
