Dominus 1984

The 1984 Dominus Estate is the second vintage produced by the John Daniel Society, made solely from grapes grown on the historic Napanook Vineyard in Yountville, California.

The 1984 vintage, although the second vintage produced, was the first released in the market and a leader for the coming vintages. You can still find in the modern Dominus wines the deep ruby color, the spicy notes on the nose and the richness of the wine that were characteristic of this early wine.

1984 Wine Label: Larry Rivers began his career as a jazz musician, but was attracted to painting in the mid 1940's when he began studying with Hans Hofmann. Always a figurative artist, his imagery ranges through political and art history with a strongly autobiographical flavor. His work was acclaimed beginning with his earliest exhibitions, and is seen as crucial to the transition from abstract Expressionism to Pop Art and beyond. One of the most important masters of contemporary American art, Rivers' works are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
